1What the line records
The frame-shape line records the ratios a vendor offers and, where it says so, the default. Two include 21:9, the cinema-wide frame some streaming dramas use. Four more offer three or more shapes, six offer landscape and portrait, and four name a single shape.
One vendor states that each shape is generated fresh rather than cropped from another; the others do not say. A shape reached by cropping loses the edges of the frame, which is worth knowing before a landscape master is cut down for a vertical feed.
